Claire Avenell

Claire is a psychologist who values working with individuals to identify what meaningful change in their lives looks like for them and empowering them to bring about that change.

Claire works from a person-centred and judgement-free approach centred on collaboration, empowerment, respect, and valuing each person’s unique experiences.

Claire is curious about what works best for each individual, employing approaches such as CBT,  solutions-focused therapy and motivational interviewing, depending on what each individual brings into the session. Claire works with adults who are faced with difficulties, with an interest in trauma and early intervention for mental health problems. Claire practices from a trauma-informed perspective and treats general mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, adjustment difficulties, stress and interpersonal difficulties. She has worked within not-for-profit mental health and rehabilitation to support individuals across a range of mental health problems.
