Brionie Fryer

I am a registered psychologist and have a Masters in Professional Psychology. Prior to private practice, I worked in employment services, workers compensation, drug and alcohol rehabilitation and have experience as an ABT therapist.

This involved working with a diverse range of individuals from children to older adults, experiencing a variety of difficulties including depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, adjustment difficulties, anger management, workplace concerns, substance dependence, long-term unemployment, autism, ADHD, intellectual disorders and behavioural problems.

I also have extensive experience assisting clients with their return to work and have a strong interest in anxiety spectrum disorders.

I prefer to use an eclectic approach, depending on the individual needs of my clients. Predominantly I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and implement aspects of mindfulness. I also have experience utilising Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solutions Focused Therapy.

“My main focus is to develop a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients and to help assist them to manage their difficulties and achieve their goals.”
