Shelley Soes

Shelley is a Registered Counsellor (Lev4) with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). She holds a Masters of Counselling and a Bachelors Degree in Education. Shelley is a certified Circle of Security Parenting Program facilitator. Shelley works with adults & children, fostering learning, expression and self-awareness toward greater life satisfaction.
Shelley is committed to providing a compassionate and safe therapeutic space based on acceptance, connection, empowerment and deep listening. Clients are active participants in a light-hearted approach to creative ‘problem-solving’.

Shelley follows a biopsychosocial/emotional model using a holistic view of the client’s life that includes physical (health/wellbeing), situational (current/past experiences), cognitive (thinking/decision-making), emotional and social (family, work & friends) domains. Shelley appreciates each client’s unique presentation, collaboratively designing a web of strategies and positive supports to build resilience, self-worth and independence.

Using strength-based, person-centred therapies Shelley integrates a variety of ‘hands-on’ creative explorations using art, play, conversation, mindfulness and bi-lateral movement to sooth or stimulate the body and brain’s response to past and immediate problems.
